Utah Safety Council Defensive Driving Course

The Utah Safety Council is now offering a four-hour defensive driving course for individuals in the Logan area. The course will take place on Saturday, Feb 4th & 18th at the North Logan Library* from 8a.m. to 12 noon (* new location). The four-hour course consists of classroom instruction and focuses on collision prevention, driving confidence, awareness of hazards and improving driving skills. Drivers may complete the course for a 50-point reduction from their Utah driving record, once every three years. Individuals 55 years of age and older, may qualify for insurance discounts after completing the course. This course also satisfies requirements for emergency vehicle violations, also known as the Slow Down, Move Over Law. Registration is $40 per person, or $10 for those ages 55 and older that are only seeking a reduction in their insurance rate. The Cache Hikers will host a cross-country ski/snowshoe trip in Franklin Basin on Sunday. This is a moderate activity, about 4 miles, with travel to Steam Mill Canyon and return through the meadows. Bring food, water, extra clothing, and a donation for gas if carpooling. Make sure your equipment is adequate and that you have the skill and stamina necessary for the trip.

The Cache Hikers will host a cross-country ski/snowshoe trip to the North Fork of Wood Camp Hollow on Sunday. This is an easy/moderate activity, mostly through open valley bottom, about 4 miles round trip. Bring food, water, extra clothing, and a donation for gas if carpooling.
