Pumpkin Toss added to annual Pumpkin Walk tradition

“My Favorite Things.” That’s the theme for the 28th annual North Logan Pumpkin Walk which starts Thursday, October 20 and continues through Tuesday, October 25 except for Sunday at Elk Ridge Park, 1100 East 2500 North in North Logan.Committee member Gina Worthen says more than 500 carved pumpkins will be lining the walking path through the scenes which are being put together by volunteers. The hours are 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.Worthen says a new feature has been added for after the Pumpkin Walk and that is the Pumpkin Toss. Utah State University mechanical engineering students have been building catapults to launch the pumpkins.”That’s going to be Saturday, October 29 at 1 p.m. at Elk Ridge Park. It’s going to be on the soccer fields and also people can come and watch that,” Worthen explains. “They can come and toss pumpkins by hand. I understand that we have some sponsors so there will prizes for whoever comes and tosses their pumpkin by hand.” Worthen says the pumpkin walk is free and after 6 p.m. there is free bus shuttle service from Greenville Elementary School at 2500 North 400 East.
