Thousands of people gathered on the Logan Tabernacle grounds Thursday afternoon for the opening of the 2012 Summerfest Arts Faire. The popular event continues through Saturday and the hours are from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. both days.
Summerfest Director Marianne Sidwell says more than 145 juried artists are participating in the festival which is free of charge. A new feature this year is a “Found and Recycled: Art Contest.” The contest encourages members of the community to create something beautiful out of junk.
