Sky View puts in solid effort in 4-0 loss to Weber in girls soccer

Sky View girls soccer pulled a 4-0 loss against the Weber Warriors Friday in what head coach Doyle Geddes said was not a completely unsatisfying loss.

“Weber’s a high quality team with some great talent,” Geddes said. “We felt great about what we did today. We’re just trying to remember that we’ve had a tough pre-season and we’ll be better off for it.”

After beating Morgan in a shutout on Wednesday, the Bobcats took to the field at Weber Friday afternoon. Unfortunately, Geddes said, the Warriors found two open windows during the first half and scored on two long shots to the Bobcats’ net.

Geddes said his team pulled a solid effort that he was not disappointed in. The challenge in the pre-season is figuring out where to place players and when, he said.

“We’re excited for the season,” Geddes said.

Defense held the Warriors off for a good part of the second half, but the Bobcats let two more goals in before the game was over.

Sky View faces off against Hurricane Saturday at 12 Noon and then begins regular season play Aug. 28 against Logan.
