Mustangs fall to region leader Bonneville, 3-1

HYRUM— The Mountain Crest girl’s soccer team suffered a tough loss Tuesday against Region 5’s top team as the Mustangs dropped a 3-1 decision at home to Bonneville. The Lakers scored two first half goals to take a 2-0 lead into halftime, and never looked back.

Ellee Hall led the Lakers with two goals, as they improved their season record to 8-2-0 (4-0-0) and distanced themselves from the Mustangs who are second place in the Region 5 standings at 3-2-0 and 6-5-0 overall.

In the second half, Abby Wright put Mountain Crest on the board with a goal, but the Lakers had an answer to maintain their two-goal lead and hold off MC for the win.

Mountain Crest will have the rest of the week off, and then they will host a pair of region games next week in Hyrum. On Tuesday, the Mustangs will host region bottom dweller Roy, and then Thursday MC will host valley-rival Logan.
