Sky View softball pulls away from Logan for a 15-5 win

LOGAN— Sky View scored three runs in the top of both the third and fifth innings, and then blew things open with six runs in the top of the sixth inning to pull away from valley-rival Logan, 15-5.

Though the Grizzlies (4-4, 0-2) struck first in the bottom of the second inning, Sky View quickly responded in the top of the third. The bobcats recorded three of their 13 hits in the inning, including their only double of the game, a 2-RBI shot by Makenna Grow.

Trying to get back into the game, errors didn’t help Logan as the Grizzlies recorded eight on the day to the Bobcats three. Some of those errors aided Sky View’s sixth inning barrage that put the game out of reach.

On the mound, Dakota Green emerged as the winning pitcher as she went she went the distance with nine strikeouts. Erin Peterson took the loss for the Grizzlies. Sky View (3-2, 2-1) will look to keep its momentum going Wednesday as the Bobcats play host to Morgan (weather permitting). Logan will take a day off before heading out to Hyrum to clash with another valley-rival in Mountain Crest.
