Sky View students to survey North Logan residents about park improvements

NORTH LOGAN– Three Sky View High School students visited the City Council on Wednesday and presented ideas for the development of Meadow View Park. They went to ask for permission to send out a survey in the city newsletter, but their ideas were met with enthusiasm and the group was granted much more.

“We think the park needs to be improved because there is not enough equipment for the kids play on so they have to wait for other kids to stop using the equipment,” said Marvin Martinez, one of the students who made the presentation.

“Currently the park has two adult swings, two children’s swings, two small slides, one picnic table, one drinking fountain, one bench that is far from the playground and one basketball hoop that is part of the parking lot,” said Erika Guadarrama, another student working on the survey.

“To expand the project, we designed a survey for North Logan city residents and we want to see what they would like to see different in the park,” said Lorena Guadarrama, the third student. “We made a website where residents can take the survey and read our proposal.”

Erika Guadarrama said that when the survey was completed, they would present the results to the council and make specific recommendations for improvements.
