LOGAN — Boy Scouts from around the area will meet at the Cache County Fairgrounds this weekend for their annual “Scout-O-Rama.” It is a showcase of Scouting programs for youth ages 7 to 18, from local units in northern Utah, south-east Idaho and south-west Wyoming. Some Scouts will be camping in the fairgrounds overnight while the main activities and events get started Saturday morning. Scout Executive for the Trapper Trails Council, Allen Endicott said the show is planned as an opportunity for Scouts to be able to have fun, get to know other Scouts, and show others what a great experience Scouting can be.

Endicott said there is a full schedule of activities. “There will be first aid demonstrations. Of course you can’t have a Scout outing without some knot tying and lashings. I understand they are going to be building some catapults up there.” Endicott also said, “there will be a Merit badge midway. I know that there’s a climbing wall coming and some bb gun shooting and archery. I will just be a big event.”

The “Scout-O-Rama” begins at 9 Saturday morning and is open to everyone. Endicott said Scouting is growing in this area with over forty-eight thousand youth now registered.
