Body found near Green Canyon

NORTH LOGAN — Police are investigating after a body was found near the mouth of Green Canyon Tuesday morning.

North Park Police Sgt. John Seamons said the body was found by a Cache County Sheriff Deputy doing a routine patrol in the area around 11:30 a.m.

“He came across this vehicle, parked on the edge of the road, passed the no trespassing sign,” said Seamons. He decided to make go make contact. He approached the vehicle and noticed there was a male in there who was obviously deceased at that time.”

The unidentified man was found inside a Jeep Grand Cherokee near the gravel pits area.

Police blocked off the area to begin investigating and identifying the body.

Seamons said the exact cause of death is still unknown but it does appear to be a suicide.
