Police called to First Dam on medical incident

Officers cordoning off the public restrooms at First Dam after someone called 911 reporting they had found a man's belongings in the men's bathroom.

LOGAN — Police responded to First Dam early Friday morning on what was originally considered a suspicious incident, after a citizen called 911 saying they had found a man’s belongings left in the public restroom.

Logan City Police Lt. Jason Olsen said the man’s clothes, identification, and prescriptions had all been left on the sink in the men’s bathroom.

Officers cordoned off the restroom and began searching along the banks for any evidence.

Within a few minutes they found the man, naked and sleeping in the bushes, near one of the docks.

Olsen said it appeared the man had suffered some type of medical incident during the night. His identity is not being released.

Paramedics were called to the scene to treat the man and transport him to Logan Regional Hospital.
