Former USU football player booked into Cache County Jail on rape charges

LOGAN — Former Utah State football player Torrey J. Green has been booked into the Cache County Jail and will now await arraignment on charges that he raped five women.

Green was booked late Monday night. The 22-year-old is being held without bail and is expected to be arraigned in 1st District Court on Thursday.

Last week, state attorneys filed charges against Green. They included four counts of rape and one count of aggravated kidnapping, all first-degree felonies, also forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony. The alleged assaults took place between November 2013 and January 2016.

The cases were investigated by Logan City, North Park and USU Police Departments, along with the Cache County Sheriff’s Office.

In two of the arrest affidavits, one victim described how Green allegedly groped and then raped her as she pleaded with him to stop. Another victim described how she was allegedly raped by Green after losing consciousness at a party.

Green was arrested in California after a judge signed a warrant for his arrest. He was transferred back to Logan after waiving extradition.
