One man hospitalized after shooting in North Logan

Police investigating shooting outside U&M Automotive in North Logan.

Police report one man is in the hospital following a shooting that took place Monday afternoon at a machine shop in North Logan.

North Park Police Chief Kim Hawkes said 911 dispatch operators received a call that the shooting happened around 1:00 p.m.

“It’s been determined that we had two individuals that had been involved in an altercation, a physical fight,” said Hawkes. “We do know there was a third individual that came into play and that a shot was fired.”

The man was reportedly shot in the torso. Paramedics transported the man to the Cache Valley Hospital.

Hawkes said officers took the two other people into custody for questioning.

“We’re interviewing witnesses and those that were involved, to see if we can determine what was the cause of the initial confrontation, and how it progressed to this extreme.”

Police have not released the identities of those involved but believe it was isolated incident and the public is not in danger.

The shooting occurred at U&M Automotive near 91 W 2500 N.
