Interesting Cruise-In offerings

If you would like to see the Batmobile that Michael Keaton drove in the ‘90’s Batman movies, just stop by and visit the Semi-Service booth at the Cache Valley Cruise-In. You’ll see a Natural Gas converted vehicle that the Caped Crusader would be proud of.

Also at the Cruise-In, at the Cache County Fairgrounds, is a young entrepreneur helping to fund his baseball play by selling License Plate Dustpans. He talked to Jason Williams during KVNU’s For the People’s live broadcast at the Cruise-In on Thursday. Dante told him how they’re made.

“We have to put them together, stain them, and we have to bend the license plates,” Dante said. “Then we have to bend them a little more and once we put them on to the set-up we have to drill the hole into the back of the handle (and) we put the string in.

“And then after that I have to re-go over it with an anvil and I have to take a rubber hammer and I have to straighten out all the corners.”

Dante said it was his great-grandfather who helped him last year in making them and selling them. Unfortunately, he passed away this past April. But Dante is carrying on the family tradition.
