Members of the Cache County Council held their regular meeting at a regular time Tuesday night, but it was held at a different place: the Cache County Fairgrounds.
Executive Secretary Janeen Allen said the council members wore cowboy shirts and although they completed their agenda items, they were pleasantly interrupted at times by Kenneth Godfrey, well-known local historian, who talked about the history of the fairgrounds and the fair itself.
Now Allen says a special event is coming up on Saturday.
“Saturday at noon is going to be a reflections, a farewell to the buildings that will have to come down,” Allen explains. “But it is also a celebration of the Cache County Fair throughout the 100+ years that it’s been around. There will be music and dancing from all throughout the eras. It will be fun, a lot of toe-tapping fun.”
Allen says the fair is special this year because there will be a whole new look next year. Construction of a new special events center will begin soon, hopefully completed by fair time 2018.
