It’s been less than year since Maple Springs Senior Living opened in North Logan and for Jessica Tarbet, director of assisted living and memory care, it has been a busy but extremely fulfilling experience. She had five years experience working at Legacy House and now Tarbet says she works where there is skilled nursing and rehab as well, with all this under one roof.
She spends considerable time now in staffing and training and whenever she can she visits with and gets to know the residents.
“It’s been a really neat opportunity to feel like I’m helping people on a consistent basis, and get to know them, their stories and their families,” exclaims Tarbet. “I have a passion for memory care, for sure. It’s very fulfilling to bring joy to someone who is struggling.
“A lot of those residents can be scared and anxious, they often don’t understand what is going on. Anything we can do to make them feel comfortable and safe and happy can make a big difference in my days.”
Maple Springs has 52 single apartments and she says many are frequently occupied by those who have fallen or for some other reason, such as recovering from surgery who need to come for a period of time.
Tarbet says most of the patients are with Medicare, but others have different options. She encourages anyone interested to come visit Maple Springs and see for themselves all that is offered.
