LOGAN — Search and Rescue teams were called to help find a missing snowmobiler Monday night in Logan Canyon. The 15-year-old’s family called 911 around 5:00 p.m. after becoming separated.
Cache County Sheriff’s Lt. Brian Locke said the group was riding in the Swan Flats area, near the summit of the canyon, when they lost track of teenager. He was missing for 2.5 hours until a separate group of snowmobilers located and transported him to the searcher’s command post.
The juvenile reported that after becoming separated from his family, his snowmobile became stuck in a hole. After failing to get it out, the boy began walking out of the area, looking for help. He reportedly walked about two-to-three-miles before he was found.
Locke said the teenager was not injured. He was reunited with his family.
