SMITHFIELD – After almost a month delay, the annual Health Days activities are scheduled to take place. The event was meant to happen May 11 and 12, but all but a few events were postponed due to the weather.
According to Richard Varela, the special events coordinator for the city, almost all of the events were able to be rescheduled and will be taking place.
“We’re going to have all of the booths and entertainment,” he said, “basically everything except for the parade.”
The event will start Saturday June 2 at 5 p.m. with bubble ball soccer, gaga ball and a Blue Sox baseball doubleheader at Forrester Acres. The Spike Ball tournament and horse pulls begin at 6 p.m. with live music taking place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Fireworks will start after dark.
The performers at the concert will be solo vocalist Augustine Larsen followed by Rocket Science.
