Center for the Arts receives $200,000 from RAPZ and Restaurant Tax

LOGAN – You might call the Cache Valley Center for the Arts the big winner in the 2018 RAPZ and Restaurant Tax Program. The committee in charge has recommended that the Center receive $150,000 Eccles Theatre Repairs and improvements, $35,000 for Arts Education and Outreach Programming and another $15,000 for marketing for the Cache Valley Center for the Arts.

The Center’s executive director Wendy Hassan said she couldn’t be happier because the needs are so great.

“There’s 50 different organizations that use this center, the three building that we manage for the city of Logan and 110,000 people go through our doors every year,” she said. “This will inconvenience them with dust and a mess for a little bit, but I hope by the end they’ll all be super happy.”

Hassan said improvements have already started to be made at the Arts Center.
