County sees 27.2 percent voter turnout; canvas scheduled for July 10

LOGAN – The Cache County Primary Election is over and the preliminary results have been released by the County Clerk’s office. Clerk Sharon Hoth said the canvas of the election is set for July 10.

“You have to have by state statute not sooner than one week nor later than two weeks after the election,” she said, “and at that time all the outstanding absentee ballots coming in from out of the country or out of state or whatever will be counted. “

She said everything has to be processed by that date.

Of the 52,947 registered voters in Cache County, 14,400 ballots were cast for a 27.2 percent voter turnout. Of those, 11,782 were registered in the Republican Party and 2,599 were registered in the Democratic Party. There were 19 nonpartisan ballots cast.
