Logan man arrested and charged with sexually abusing child

LOGAN — Deputies have arrested a 24-year-old man accused of sexually abusing a child. David C. Jackson was booked into jail on Monday.

Cache County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Matt Bilodeau said the victim was under the age of 12 and lived in the south part of the county. They were allegedly an acquaintance of Jackson.

Investigators learned of the alleged abuse after the victim’s mother called 911 to report it.  It occurred on September 28.

Court records show the suspect was arraigned in 1st District Court Thursday afternoon. State attorneys earlier in the day had charged him with four counts of sexual abuse of a child, a first-degree felony. He could face up to life in prison if convicted.

Judge Brian Cannell ordered Jackson to be held without bail for the time. He ordered him to appear again on Tuesday.
