Rebecca Winstead loves to live in Logan and she says it is even more exciting now that she and others have decided ways they might improve their favorite city. Winstead decided to run to represent the Southeast District on the Cache County Council and she is running on the Democratic party ticket.
“A lot of us saw that this was incredibly frustrating to look at a ballot and not have a choice,” Winstead explains. “Those of us who stepped up happen to be women, and I think it’s fantastic. The women I’m running with are fabulous, they’re intelligent, they can multi-task.
“I know there’s a study out there that says that if a woman doesn’t feel 100% qualified she won’t apply for a job, as men will apply if 80% qualified.”
Winstead encourages those who would like to help her campaign to let her know and she will put them to work. Winstead is challenging incumbent Republican Gordon Zilles.
