Shannon Rhodes is hoping for change and diversity on Cache County Council

LOGAN — Cache County is a Republican-dominated area but that doesn’t seem to bother Democrat Shannon Rhodes. Rhodes is running for a seat on the Cache County Council. She says there should be more than just one perspective and likes the idea of working together and allowing everyone’s voices to be heard.

Rhodes has worked in the healthcare industry for the past 14 years. She is a social worker who focuses on home health and hospice care at Intermountain Healthcare. She believes having a social worker on the council would be a plus for the community.

“The areas that people are most concerned about: our suicide rate, the opioid issue and mental health. You know, our health care.”  Rhodes emphasized, “A lot of that stems from health and human services. So, I think having someone on the county (council) who has experience in that would definitely be beneficial over all.”

Rhodes says she feels good when she can help make lives better. She hopes that both Democrats and Republicans can compromise in order to improve our community.

Rhodes faces Republican Gina Worthen in the upcoming midterm election.
