It’s the Weekend – Nov. 1-4, 2018

Have you recovered from Halloween? Ready to start getting into the Christmas spirit? We’ve got details an upcoming holiday gift show and some special ways to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of Armistice, all on this week’s episode of “It’s the Weekend!”

Logan Holiday Gift Show

This weekend the Cache Valley Media Group is sponsoring the Logan Holiday Gift Show. Over 50 vendors will be at the Riverwoods Conference Center Friday and Saturday showing off unique gift ideas for the holiday season. Even Santa will be making a special visit.

Armistice Commemorations

This year marks the 100th anniversary of Armistice, the end of World War I. USU is hosting multiple professor discussions, the Utah Theatre is hosting a film festival, the American Festival Chorus and Orchestra is performing ‘War & the Human Heart: Songs of Battle, Loss and Love’, and there will be an Armistice Day 5K around the USU campus.

Day of the Dead

Thursday is a day to remember loved ones who have passed on, with the Day of the Dead. Sponsored by the USU Latinx Creative Society, a Day of the Dead procession will begin at the Historic Cache County Courthouse at 4:30 p.m. Thursday. Another one will take place Friday at 11:30 a.m. beginning a the Block A at USU.

Aggie Basketball

Speaking of USU, the Aggie men’s and women’s basketball teams have exhibition games this week. The men host Evergreen State Thursday, while the women host Westminster Friday. Both games are at 7 p.m. in the Spectrum.

Sawyer Brown Concert

The Cherry Creek Winter Concert Series kicks off Thursday night at the Cache County Events Center with Sawyer Brown. Doors open at 6:30 and the concert begins at 7:30.

Miss Cache Valley

See who will be crowned Miss Cache Valley this Saturday. This annual scholarship pageant is at the Ellen Eccles Theatre Saturday from 7-10 p.m.
