It’s time for another Cowboy Rendezvous, physics demonstrations and a scavenger hunt at Beaver Mountain. We’ve got all the details about what’s going on in Cache Valley this weekend.
Cache Valley Cowboy Rendezvous
The annual Cache Valley Cowboy Rendezvous is a three day celebration of western culture and agricultural heritage. It takes place this weekend at Mountain Crest High School on Friday and Saturday, with Cowboy Church at the American West Heritage Center on Sunday. The Rendezvous includes music, concerts, cowboy poetry, workshops and dutch oven cooking.
International Fly Fishing Film Festival
The International Fly Fishing Film Festival comes to Logan on Thursday. Showing at the Utah Theatre, the films showcase the passion, lifestyle and culture of fly-fishing, starting at 6 p.m.
Gunshow
One of the biggest gun shows in the country visits Logan on Friday. The Crossroads of the West Gunshow opens at 12 noon on Friday and continues Saturday at the Cache County Events Center.
Echoing Traditional Ways Pow Wow
The 46th annual Echoing Traditional Ways USU Pow Wow is Friday and Saturday in the USU Nelson Fieldhouse. It features Native American arts and crafts, dancing and drumming Friday and Saturday at 6, as well as Saturday at 12 noon.
Physics Demonstration Show
Do you like it when things go boom? Learn the exciting and fun aspects of physics at the American Association of Physics Teachers Physics Demonstration Show at USU on Friday. Admission is free at the Eccles Science Learning Center and the fun begins at 7 p.m.
Soul Food Night
Also on Friday at USU, the Black Student Union is hosting Soul Food Night. It’s an evening of fashion, food and fun, honoring the diversity of African and black culture. It starts at 7 in the Taggart Student Center Ballroom.
The Jolt
Professional jumpers from around the country perform with the Just Jumpin’ team at The Jolt. The jump rope show on Friday is high-energy family entertainment and starts at 7 p.m. in the Logan Rec Center.
Hunt the Beav
Do you like scavenger hunts? There’s a big one this weekend at Beaver Mountain. Hunt the Beav scavenger hunt and culinary expedition is a fundraiser for Common Ground Outdoor Adventures. Explore the mountain, find the clues, and enjoy great food both Saturday and Sunday.
Family First Saturday
Saturday is the first Saturday of a new month, which means fun things are planned at USU’s Museum of Anthropology. Family First Saturday will explore the advanced culture of the Maya. It starts at 10 a.m.
