Curbside green waste collection officially underway

Spring is officially here — and you know what that means! Now’s the perfect time to get started on yard clean up.

Curbside green waste collection is officially underway in Cache Valley.

“It’s a great time to get a lot of fallen down branches and leaves that were left on your property at the end of the fall,” according to Emily Malik, Logan City Conservation Coordinator.

Residents have two options during the green waste season – bins or green cans.

The bins are large containers that have been placed in different areas throughout the county. Drop site locations can be found here.

“We ask that residents don’t overfill the containers or leave materials on the ground outside of the container,” said Malik. “If they happen to go to the drop site and it’s full, we ask they try the next day or bring it back to us at the landfill where they can dispose of those items for free.”

Containers are emptied nearly daily during the green waste season.

The other option for residents is to have a green can delivered to your home for an extra $5 a month. You can call (435) 716-9755 to arrange a drop off.

The city reminds residents that green waste materials include: grass, small branches, and general yard waste less than 4’ in length. No garbage, rocks, dirt or pet waste are allowed.

Green waste can be taken to the Logan City Green Waste Facility at 1450 North 1000 West year round for no charge.
