Box Elder Credit Union is changing its name to Elevate Credit Union on Jan. 1, 2020.

“We are very excited about our new name and the future of our credit union,” Webre said. “By selecting our new name, we have made an investment in our future. We believe Elevate Credit Union provides a foundation for growth in the years ahead.”

Webre said they have many members who live and work in Cache County and this will bring services closer to them. He said he knows there are a lot of financial institutions in Cache Valley already, but the credit union feels like it can do well there.

Tonya Gail, Box Elder Credit Unions Marketing Director, said they feel like this is a good time to make a move and secure a place in in the Cache County business community.

“I can’t give you specifics right now on where our new location will be,” Gail said. “I can tell you that our new location will be within Logan City limits.”

“We never know what the future will bring and we want to take advantage of good economy and stay relevant by expanding,” she added. “Growing is one of our goals.”

With a branch in Garland and a membership of 13,000 – with more than $130 million in assets – their future looks bright.

We chose the name Elevate because it is distinctive, memorable, and represents not only our geographic surroundings, but describes our purpose of elevating our members, their goals and dreams through the financial services we provide,” Gail said. “Like our membership and community, Elevate Credit Union is a formation whose strength is composed of its many parts.”

What started out as a credit union for the now-defunct Intermountain Indian School in 1954, has continued for 65 years to flourish into a strong successful financial institution.

“We have built Box Elder Credit Union on our member’s loyalty,” Gail said. “We are thankful for our member’s support and confidence in us. We will always remain committed to the communities we serve.”

Phillip Wheatley, the Garland branch manager, said he thought expanding to the Logan area is a good thing.
