From graduation ceremonies to an outdoor recreation expo to Cinco de Mayo celebrations…it’s a busy weekend in Cache Valley and we’ve got all the details
Ultimate Home and Outdoor Recreation Expo
The Ultimate Home and Outdoor Recreation Expo is this Friday and Saturday at the Cache County Events Center. There will be dozens of vendors, free demonstrations and lots of giveaways. Doors open Friday at noon and Saturday at 10 a.m. For a schedule of all the free workshops and seminars, click here. Cost is $8 for adults, $6 for military or seniors, $3 for kids.
USU Graduation
Congratulations to all the graduating seniors at Utah State University. Commencement is Thursday morning and individual college convocations will continue Thursday and Friday. Go Aggies! The Latinx Cultural Center is hosting a graduation celebration Thursday in the West Stadium Center in the football stadium from 4:30-5:30 p.m. The USU Office of Global Engagement will also be hosting a graduation celebration for International Students. That celebration will take place from 5:30-7 in the Skyroom.
A Doll’s House
Mountain Crest drama department presents A Doll’s House. It’s a story of domestic revolution, female empowerment and the journey of self-liberation. Performances are Thursday through Saturday, and next Monday.
Freaky Friday
Another theater option this weekend is at the Utah Theatre. Utah Festival Conservatory presents their Senior Spring Production of Freaky Friday. It’s a fun, high-energy modern musical adaptation of the Disney classic movie. Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Spikeball Tournament
Nibley City is hosting a late night Spikeball Tournament at Anhder Park on Friday. There will be food and music, and costs $30 per team.
Golden Spike Sesquicentennial Horse Parade
To open the week of Golden Spike Sesquicentennial celebrations, Box Elder County is hosting a horse parade showcasing the lifestyle of 1869 with authentic period dress and equipment from each of Utah’s 29 counties followed by a fun evening of song and dance at a good old-fashioned hoedown. The parade is at 1 pm down Brigham City’s Main Street. A hoedown begins at 6 pm at the Box Elder County Fairgrounds Event Center in Tremonton.
Family First Saturday: Vikings
Think you know everything about Vikings? Learn the myths and history of vikings this Saturday at the USU Museum of Anthropology. The fun begins at 10 a.m.
Cinco de Mayo celebration
Celebrate Cinco de Mayo a day early with The Family Place. The event on Saturday will feature food trucks, music, dancing and crafts. The fun starts at 4 p.m.
