LOGAN — Police have arrested a 32-year-old man suspected of severely beating a woman last week. Courtney Wood was booked into the Cache County Jail Friday night, where he is being held without bail.

The Logan City Police Department began investigating Wood after a woman was treated at Intermountain Logan Regional Hospital May 13. The victim allegedly had severe facial injuries, believed to have been caused from a violent beating.

Officers investigated the case and identified Wood as a person of interest. They believed he was on the run and asked for the public’s help locating him Friday afternoon.

According to jail booking records, Wood is being held on multiple offenses, including aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault, possession of a dangerous weapon and domestic violence in the presence of a child.

Formal charges are pending completion of the investigation. Wood will likely be arraigned in 1st District Court this week.
