Jessie Yonkers, the owner of Rebound Unlimited stands in front of one of his rides. He said he they are in the business to help people have fun.

Jessie Yonker, the owner of Rebound Unlimited located at 429 E. 9800 S. Richmond, said he is in the business to help people have fun. He recently took over the reins from his aunt, Angie Yonker.

One of the many multi Tramp Things configurations Rebound Unlimited uses to keep crowds moving during one of their events.

Rebound Unlimited is a simple idea: a trampoline, bungee cords, and a harness. Instead of jumping on a tramp and getting three feet of air, with the cords and harness anyone can jump up to 24 feet and do flips all the way down without the fear landing on his or her head.

“We sell fun,” Yonker said. “We hire people to work the rides that are enthusiastic and help make the ride enjoyable. We do a lot of company parties, fairs and other large gatherings.”

Rebound Unlimited has three different tramp rides: stationary one way, mobile one way, mobile two way, as well as inflatables bounce houses, obstacle courses and slides. The company also has a basketball game called Shoot and Shower and a 24-foot climbing wall.

“It’s a family business,” Yonker said. “I’ve been doing events for a long time.”

He called to hustle carnival rides for a long time.

The rides are mostly manufactured in their Richmond warehouse, with two exceptions. “We don’t manufacture the climbing wall or the bounce houses.”

Yonker said they are busy year round, but Memorial Day to Labor Day is the busiest. They do events as close as Smithfield and as far away as Southern California.  November through January they concentrate on manufacturing.

“I’ve been to all parts of Utah, Idaho and Wyoming,” he said. “We do a lot of corporate parties; we show up at community celebrations,” he said. “We can haul everything we need for an event in four to five pickup trucks.”

Yonker has got set up and tear down to a simple system that takes 20 to 30 minutes. He said theirs is one of the simplest systems out there. Others take an hour or more to set up.

“That’s the beauty of our system. It’s all on a trailer,” he said. “We pull up and we have the ride ready, quickly.”

“We sell the Tramp Things and basketball games. We can get someone in the business without a lot of capital,” he said. “We have been selling them for 29 years, so we’ve probably sold thousands.”

Rebound Unlimited is headquartered in Richmond and sells their rides all over the world.

The Tramp Things can be found in Europe, Asia, and Australia.

Rebound Unlimited folks go to an annual trade show every year.

“People from all over the world attend to see what’s new in amusement, and we sell products to them,” said Yonker.

It is a popular ride with people of all ages, but most popular with ages 5 to 20, with high repeat customer use.

The trampoline ride was developed in 1993 and can be found in hundreds of locations throughout the world.
