Puttin’ on the pig in Newton-benefit for the library fund

The annual Luau Dinner will be held  this Saturday, June 8th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Newton Pavilion next to the library in the park at 85 S. Center in Newton. The menu includes Roast Pig, Teriyaki Chicken, Rice & Beans or Coconut Rice, Macaroni Salad or Quinoa Salad, Watermelon, Hawaiian Rolls and Pineapple Upside Down Cake.  Gluten-free and vegetarian options are part of the menu.

Activities that night include face painting, snow cones and a hula hoop contest. The Pauni Family will perform at 5:30 p.m.

This is a fundraiser dinner for the Library’s Building Fund, as they hope to expand the library in the future and the bid for this work came in at $80,000.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids and can be purchased ahead of time at the library or by phone during business hours (using cash/check or card) or at the Newton Market (cash/check only).  Tickets can also be purchased at the door that evening with cash or check.
