The second biennial South Towns Got Talent Show was held on Saturday at Mountain Crest High School.
This year’s winners in the adult division were, in first place, Sharolyn Richards of Wellsville, who took home $100 for her clogging; second place was Ricky Lyon, a singer/songwriter who took home $50; and, Jessica Bryant, a singer from Nibley, took home $25 for third place.
Madilyn Mathews and Matthew Valentine took the youth division, along with $100, with a dance number. Second place pianist, Olivia Merkley, took home $50, and in third place was Whitney Obray, with a $25 prize for singing and playing her guitar.
Lia Hugie won the audience choice for her display of aerial silks. She won $25.
Marquessa Gordon, the event coordinator for Nibley City, said there were over 30 people who initially auditioned for the show. They narrowed it down to 12 performers chosen as finalists.
“It went super well. I was really happy with the way things went,” she said. “Dave Bennett (the MC) is real professional and did a great job.”
