Freedom Fire bringing great music and fireworks together for Independence Day in Logan

The 2019 Freedom Fire Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks Show will once again be at Utah State University’s Maverik Stadium on Wed. July 3. Gates open at 7 p.m.

Party Crashers is a high energy group that is known to have their audience dancing and singing along with them.

“This year’s show is going to be fantastic. We will have some great live music, a patriotic program and everyone’s favorite fireworks,” said Holly Fjeldsted, the executive producer of Freedom Fire. “The patriotic program gives us a chance to stop and honor the men and women that sacrificed so much for our country.”

She said it is a great opportunity to listen to music devoted to those who have sacrificed for our country.  There will be multiple music programs and this year there will be an encore concert when the fireworks are done.

“We want people to stay in the stadium and enjoy an encore performance while people on the outside of the stadium leave the area,” Fjeldsted said. “Then, the people inside the stadium will not have to fight traffic when they leave.”

Independence Day is such a great holiday and having an event like this at Maverik Stadium is the highlight of my summer,” Fjelsted continued. “Al Lewis is the emcee and he is always a pleasure to work with; he does a great job.”

This year’s entertainment will provide something for everyone.

Country music singer Charley Jenkins is from eastern Utah, making a name for himself in Nashville with his solid vocals and original music. He will perform on the stage on July 3rd as he continues to entertain audiences across the country without losing sight of his Utah roots.

Fjeldsted said the Party Crashers will also perform and described them as a group people have to experience.

They are a high-energy group that will have everyone dancing and singing along with them,” she said. “They bring a real fun party atmosphere.”

As the leader of the biggest annual summer celebration, she works on the program year round.

“When we wrap one up, we start looking at next year’s show,” she explained. “It is fun to plan for a summer event in the winter. It’s exciting!”

Tickets will go on sale at Maverik Stadium beginning at 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 3. Entertainment begins at 8:00 pm. The spectacular fireworks show begins at dark and the celebration ends with a concert.

This year’s show is going to be great,” she said. “I promise!”

The Party Crashers were great, but the fireworks show was epic. It was the best performance I have ever seen in 37 years.

I loved Charlie Jenkins. Lots of fireworks but the music to go along with it was not the best. I was disappointed with that. Also why are you using an Idaho company for UT? Fireworks West is right here in Cache Valley and has done a great job for years. Support the locals

Loved Charlie Jenkins. Was not impressed with the sound track that went along with the fireworks. Lots of fireworks however. But why are we supporting a fireworks company from ID when we have Fireworks West right here in the valley? Should we not support the locals?
