LOGAN — A 32-year-old man has confessed to sexually assaulting and molesting multiple girls during the past 19 years. Aaron R. Robison accepted a plea deal that will likely send the Logan resident to prison.
Robison appeared in 1st District Court Monday morning on four separate cases. He pleaded guilty two counts of forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony, and two counts of sexual battery, both modified to class A misdemeanors. As part of the agreement, prosecutors dropped two remaining charges against him.
Prosecutors told the court that in two of the cases, Robison sexually assaulted the teenage girls when he was approximately 23-years-old. In the remaining two cases, he molested two girls while he was also a juvenile at the time. All of the victims were acquaintances of the defendant.
In July, Robison waived his right to a preliminary hearing, where prosecutors would have presented their evidence in the four cases. At that time, attorneys told Judge Thomas Willmore that they were attempting to work out a plea deal.
The cases have been delayed while attorneys had Robison, a former military service member, complete a psycho-sexual evaluation. The report was held up while attorneys worked with federal government officials to pay for the evaluation.
Robison spoke only briefly during Monday’s court appearance. He told Judge Willmore that he was willing to give up his right to a fair trial and was guilty of the charges.
Judge Willmore scheduled sentencing for later this fall.
Robison is currently out of jail on pre-trial supervision, after posting $5,000 bail. He could face up to 15-years in prison.
