Cache Chamber of Commerce ready for annual awards banquet

LOGAN— The Cache Chamber of Commerce will celebrate its centennial year Tuesday when the annual awards banquet is held at the USU Taggart Student Center ballroom. Chamber President and CEO Sandy Emile said the tables are sold out, but people are invited to come to the silent auction.

Eight different awards will be presented, including the coveted Total Citizen Award to 90-year-old Dr. Merrill Daines. Emile said this award is for a lifetime of achievements.

“It could be from the medical facility at Logan Regional Hospital,” Emile said. “It could be for the philanthropic things that are done through the theater, through support of all the different artistic endeavors through the community, support that is given individuals, just pat on the back support kind of things that he has done. He’s given countless hours of volunteerism through Rotary. The man has been involved all of his life.”

Various other awards will be presented as well, including Small Business of the Year, Culinary Business of the Year, Event of the Year, Project of the Year, and many others.
