The Cache County Bar Association will hold its monthly "Thursday Night at the Bar" on Thursday, February 11th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the county council chambers of the Historic Cache County Court House at 199 North Main, Logan.
Attorney Rand Henderson says "Thursday Night at the Bar" is a free, or pro bono, legal clinic designed to help the public in determining their legal rights. Volunteer attorneys meet briefly with individuals one-on-one to provide preliminary counseling and general legal information.
For example, Hederson says individuals are told that you don't need to hire an attorney to write a will. He says it must be handwritten but it probably wouldn't work for a large estate.
"If your real property is worth more than $125,000 and you have any stocks or bonds, any interest in a company, if for some reason you don't feel comfortable doing pay-on-death accounts, those kinds of issues, you probably want to talk to an attorney," Henderson says. "And most of them will do a real cheap consultation."
Henderson says valuable help is provided on such issues as divorce, domestic violence and landlord/tenant problems. For more information, call 713-0660.
