Uh, I don't know who keeps posting these ridiculous arguments about air quality. People go cross country skiing in Green Canyon and haven't died. . .or snowshoeing barely up Logan Canyon. Besides, if this is what people want, your radical conservation ideas shouldn't get in the way. It won't touch your precious wilderness area.

I live in Richmond and the traffic will go past my house and I am in favor of it! Bring it on. So exciting. I learned to ski at a tiny ski resort and loved it.

. . . the other thing I don't get is why the plans for this thing is on the state's Office of Planning and Budget webpage. What do they have to do with it? And I can't find any information there . . . would you please provide a reliable link?

. . . there are two guys proposing this development. One of them owns 40 acres up Cherry Creek, the other, none. So where's the rest of the development coming from?

Wow, a whole whopping 160 acres? Yawn. Let me know when it becomes a larger resort. Beaver is something like 660 acres now, and it is not terribly big compared to Park City at 2200 acres.

Um... have you been to Richmond? scrape the snow out of my yard and take it up there please. All the water? seriously? do you think they will try to stay open til JULY?

Ok... We'll take it. Our city can could use the revenue for side walks a library, a new police station, nice parks, and a sports complex... oh wait - we have those already and you don't. There are very few ways to bring in money to this area, by development of businesses - mainly manufacturing that will bring residents (which will in turn destroy farmland and make us no different than SLC), or Tourism. I vote for the second.... becuase those people LEAVE. The biggest negative impact that Richmond will see, is more automobile traffic. The rest of the cities down hwy 89 have to put up with your added traffic on a DAILY basis - I should think you could handle our traffic up your way on the weekends. Maybe you should really honestly consider what something like this will do for the community. I think it is time for Logan city to realize that it isn't the only place in Cache Valley worth going.
38957198Name for the Resort said on Tuesday, Mar 9 at 4:49 PM
The local paper said that the name of the resort was to be "Rainey Ranch". I did not catch if Rainey was the name of one of the developers? I hope someone talked them out of that. I don't care what your name is, you don't (if you have a lick of marketing sense) name a ski resort any derivative of "RAIN"! How about Powder Ranch instead? Snow Ranch? Guess I'm not a marketing person either.

In five years you can remind me of the money it is making and why the valley has no water because its all going to this ski resort to manufacture snow...Let's put a resort in Hyrum or Providence or Smithfield and see how you feel then...
38953594Typical said on Tuesday, Mar 9 at 1:12 PM
Typical "not in my backyard" mentality. And in five years the community that is so against this will be touting it as one of the premier attractions of Richmond--once people figure out there is money to be made, that is.
38943551Of course... said on Tuesday, Mar 9 at 11:23 AM
Of course you think its a great idea. You don't live in Richmond. News in Cache Valley is horrible. Maybe some news about the meeting that was held by the county over this issue and there was only a vote for how many were in favor of this. Typical Government Crap!

Excellent way to help the local economy. Driving to Beaver can be time consuming and even dangerous. Cache Valley needs more recreational options.. good plan!!!
