Logan man uses dead man's credit card

By Jennie Christensen

Shane Peterson is in trouble with the law after it was found he allegedly used the credit card of a deceased man to make approximately $1,300 in purchases. The 44-year old Logan resident is charged with using the credit card five times in January at different locations in Cache Valley.

Logan Police Captain Jeff Curtis says police were called when the bill came to the home of the family and they realized the fraud had occurred. Cpt. Curtis says through surveillance video police were able to identify Peterson as the suspect.

Peterson was later questioned and admitted to the crime. A summons was delivered to Peterson on Monday and he will appear in court later this week on seven charges of forgery and unlawful acquisition and use of a credit card.

The guy should have cancelled his card before he died. Problem solved.
