Peace vigil planned for anniversary of Iraq war

By Jennie Christensen

Friday, March 19, marks the seventh anniversary of the war in Iraq and Cache Valley Peace Works plans several different activities starting with a peach vigil at 5:30 p.m. It will be held on the park strip on the east side of Main Street between 100 North and Center Street.

At 6 p.m. there will be a peach walk to the Historic Cache County Court House at 199 North Main. From 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. there will be a program that includes speakers, music and a closing ceremony that includes a candlelight vigil.

The events are being organized by the American Friends Service Committee which is organizing events across the country to mark the start of the war. For more information, contact Brenda Chung at 755-5135.
