Logan resident competing in Ultimate Cake-Off

By Jennie Christensen

She's a master decorator and Amelia Carbine of Logan will be competing for a $10,000 prize as winner of TLC's Ultimate Cake-Off Monday night. The program will be shown at 7 p.m. and, although it was taped in advance, Carbine is not allowed to reveal the results.

The competition was by invitation only and Carbine was contacted through her website since she is already well-known in the high-end decorating world. There are three contestants in the Ultimate Cake-Off and each has three assistants.

Each team has nine hours to make an extreme cake which must be at east six feet tall complete with moving parts and lights. Carbine chose to make a wedding cake with an Irish theme and it was made for an actual event. She says the whole cake-making process will be shown on the program before the winner is announced.
