Cache schools enact activity transportation fee

By Cache Valley Daily

For the first time next year, students in the Cache County School District will be paying a transportation fee for extracurricular activities.

Members of the school board voted Thursday to impose a $15 transportation fee on students in grades nine and up who participate in activities sponsored by the Utah High School Activities Association.

Deputy Superintendent Mike Liechty said students will now be paying less for the so called "Spirit Pack," however, which is purchased by most of the students. The cost of the spirit pack will be reduced from $100 to $75 starting the next school year.
