Farm Bureau convention coming to Logan

By Jennie Christensen

Farmers and ranchers from all over the state of Utah will be attending the Utah Farm Bureau Federation's annual midyear convention to be held July 15 and 16 at the Riverwoods Conference Center in Logan.

One of the highlights will be the appearance of Salt Lake County Mayor Peter Corroon and Lt. Governor Greg Bell, who will be representing Governor Gary Herbert, discussing agriculture and rural issues.

Corroon is the Democrat challenging Herbert in the November election. Corroon and Bell will speak Thursday at 4:15 p.m. at the Riverwoods Conference Center. Utah Farm Bureau President Leland Hogan says valuable information will be presented at the two-day conference which also features Alan Clark, Assistant Director of the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources.

He will address the issue of why landowners should open their property to outdoor enthusiasts. The full agenda for the convention can be found at http://utfb.fb.org/Website/2010%20MidYear%20Conference%20Agenda.pdf
