Top rodeo clown returning to That Famous Preston Night Rodeo

By Jennie Christensen

For more than 35 years Douglas Webb has been on the committee for That Famous Preston Night Rodeo, but this year Webb has an added title. The Webb Funeral Home owner has been named Grand Marshal for the three parades coming up prior to the rodeo this Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

On KVNU's Crosstalk show Wednesday, Webb said That Famous Preston Night Rodeo got its name because it was the first night rodeo in the country. He says this year's event will live up to all of the others.

"We have as our prime clown and entertainment program Keith Isley," Webb explained. "He, in the world of clowning and specialty acts in the last four years, three of those years has been the top clown functioning in rodeos.

"We had him a couple of years ago here and we're quite excited to have him back."

Webb invites everyone in Cache Valley to attend the rodeo. The rodeo begins at 8:30 p.m. each evening and the rodeo will be preceded by a parade, a City of Fun Carnival, a sidewalk sale and other activities starting at 6:30 p.m. July 29-31.
