LOGAN — Sardine Canyon, US-89/91 is reopen after Utah Highway Patrol troopers closed it Monday afternoon due to multiple slide-offs and accidents.
Sgt. Cade Brenchley said troopers have closed the canyon temporarily while crews try to clear the roads.
“We are going to temporarily close Sardine. There are white-out conditions and traffic is backed up, due to white-outs and semis are stopped. So we are going to close it until we can get that cleared out and hopefully the wind will stop blowing.”
Motorist were being advised to use Valley View Highway, SR 30, as an alternate route.
Troopers reopened the canyon around 10 p.m.
