North Logan hosting Pioneer Day festivities

The city of North Logan is inviting both residents and non-residents to help celebrate Pioneer Day in the community. Celebration Coordinator Linda Smith of the recreation department there will be day-long family-fun activities on Monday, July 25th.

“It starts with our flag ceremony and breakfast at Elk Ridge Park at 7,” Smith explains. “Then we have kids fishing contest at King Park Pond at 8. After that everyone can go and enjoy our wonderful parade at 10. With over 40 participants in the parade it’s going to be great.”

Smith says the grand marshal for the parade will be former North Logan Mayor Al Moser. She said this year’s Mother of the Year will also be revealed in the parade.

Other events include a charity barbecue at 6 p.m. in the Lions building at Elk Ridge Park. It will be followed by a movie in the park and the holiday ends with fireworks at dark at Elk Ridge Park.
