LOGAN— He may be leaving Cache Valley soon, but Wally Bloss, the Executive Director of the Cache Valley Center for the Arts (CVCA) said he'll be taking some fantastic memories with him when he and his wife return to Missouri, where most of their family lives.

Bloss is retiring July 1 after more than eight years on the job. His successor – James D. Keutzberg of Manitowoc, Wisconsin was announced Tuesday by the board of directors. Bloss said his job has been enjoyable and also challenging.

“One of the things we tried to do and continue to try to do and will continue to do into the future I’m sure, is to continue to have a variety of things,” Bloss said. “You may not be interested in modern dance, you may not be interested in Arlo Guthrie, you may just want to see things like “Cats” and “West Side Story” and all the other kind of major well known Broadway shows, but we have to have a variety.”

Bloss has made numerous changes, including merging the Alliance for the Varied Arts (AVA) with the CVCA, which includes the Bullen Center, the Ellen Eccles Theatre and the Thatcher-Young Mansion.
