Doggie Olympics coming to Cache Valley May 11

LOGAN— The Doggie Olympics are coming to Cache Valley Saturday, May 11, and event coordinator Mary Connor said it’s co-sponsored by Four Paws Rescue and the Cache Humane Society. It’s a fundraiser for the two groups and Connor said the Doggie Olympics will be held at the Cache County fairgrounds between 1-4:30 p.m.

On KVNU’s ”For the People” show Wednesday, Connor said the cost to donate or sponsor an Olympic event is $500 for platinum, $200 for gold and $100 to be a silver sponsor.

However, donations of any amount will be appreciated. Connor said the Doggie Olympics will feature dog-centric events for the entire family to enjoy, such as best dog freestyle, dog bobbing for hot dogs, and even dog confessions.

“People take photos of their dogs and a little sign where they make their confession about what they did. For example, there was a picture of this adorable big fluffy yellow lab that was friendly as everything, but the sign posted up against it said, ‘I bark at old ladies with walkers,’” Connor said.

Donations will be equally divided between Four Paws and the Cache Humane Society.
