Woman rescued after falling 100-feet while hiking

LOGAN — A 25-year-old woman was hospitalized Wednesday night after falling approximately 100-feet while hiking in Providence Canyon.

Cache County Sheriff’s Lt. Brian Locke said the woman was in the lower waterfall area near the rock quarry when she fell.

The accident was reported at 6:45 p.m.

Rescue personnel and deputies were able to reach the hiker with vehicles. Search and Rescue crews were called to assist with a high angle rescue to safely transport the hiker off the mountain.

Locke said the woman was transported to a local hospital by ambulance with unknown injuries. Her identity is not being released yet pending notification of her family.
