Suspected gun thief waves preliminary hearing

LOGAN — One of the two men suspected of stealing several handguns from a pawn shop was in court Wednesday, waving his right to a preliminary hearing.

Tyler Jenson appeared in 1st District Court. The 24-year-old’s defense attorney said they wished to wave the hearing as they work toward a possible plea agreement with prosecutors.

Jenson and 27-year-old Cody Naser are accused of breaking into Fast Cache Pawn in February and stealing several handguns.

They are both being charged with 11 counts of theft, a second-degree felony and one count of burglary, a third-degree felony.

Jenson was arrested May 5. He is currently being held in the Cache County Jail on a $25,000 bail. He is expected to appear again in court May 28.

Naser is also still being held in jail on a $115,000 bail. His preliminary hearing has been scheduled for July 8.
