Logan City seeking public feedback on urban deer

A lot of people have come out wth ideas on how Logan and surrounding communities should deal with urban deer especially in the bench areas.

Logan Mayor Craig Petersen told members of the city council that a survey will soon be conducted to learn the attitudes of local residents on this issue.

“The survey instrument has been developed,” said Petersen. “It will ask people how serious they think the problem is. It will ask them what they think the nature of the problem is.

“Is it collisions with cars? Is it predators? Is it disruption of gardens and things like that and what they’d like to do about it? That will be done in the first part of November.”

The Mayor said the random survey to be done by students in Professor Mark Brunson’s class will involve leaving the survey explaining the issue, asking the resident to fill it out and the survey will be picked up the following day. He said it will be a 600-person survey.
