Farmers Market has been going well, despite the rain

Those who have been able to brave rainy weather the last few weeks say the Cache County Courthouse lawn is a great place for the Cache Valley Farmers Market.

The event has been held there twice and both times it rained most of the time.

Another market is scheduled for Saturday, May 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and County Executive Craig Buttars says he is hoping it won’t rain again. Weather forecasters have said, however, that it might. Either way, he hopes the people will come.

“The downtown merchants are happy to have all these people downtown,” Buttars says. “The courthouse square here with the plaza is a natural place for it. There is a lot of parking available, lots of shade so as we get into the summer it will be a nice place to have it.”

Buttars says county employees have said they enjoy getting the lawn ready for the Farmers Market.
